Farrago Syndrome

I like to see people reunited, I like to see people run to each other, I like the kissing and the crying, I like the impatience, the stories that the mouth can’t tell fast enough, the ears that aren’t big enough, the eyes that can’t take in all of the change, I like the hugging, the bringing together, the end of missing someone.

Jonathan Safran Foer, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close

Can’t wait to see its movie  :DD

Sometimes bad things and bad luck pile up. But that is just a generalization. However, if bad things keep happening to the same person, if they keep piling up, then that isn’t a generalization anymore. It has become personal. In that case thinking in terms of a generalization doesn’t help because one wants sympathy. Consider all of these things that happened to me today: I missed the woman I was waiting for. I lost a button on my jacket. I met somebody on the train that I didn’t want to meet. I felt the first twinge of a toothache. And now it’s raining and I’m trapped in a cab, stuck in traffic because of an accident. If anybody says these are just general things then I’ll going to belt him. Don’t you agree?
- Haruki Murakami, The Vamprie Cabbie
Grenouille stood there and smiled. Or rather, it seemed to the people who saw him that he was smiling, the most innocent, loving, enchanting, and at the same time most seductive smile in the world. But in fact it was not a smile, but an ugly, cynical smirk that lay upon his lips, reflecting both his total triumph and his total contempt.

Just because I don’t remember things doesn’t mean they’re meaningless.

There is no exquisite beauty,” says Bacon, Lord Verulam, speaking truly of all the forms and genera of beauty, “without some strangeness in the proportion.
- Edgar Allen Poe, Ligeia
I have no idea what to do with myself. And while I wait for my epiphany, I feel the toxins collecting in my body.

WHERE IS MY MIND?

Oh - stop

With your feet in the air and your head on the ground
Try this trick and spin it, yeah
Your head will collapse
But there’s nothing in it
And you’ll ask yourself

Where is my mind [3x]

Way out in the water
See it swimmin’

I was swimmin’ in the Caribbean
Animals were hiding behind the rocks
Except the little fish
But they told me, he swears
Tryin’ to talk to me, coy koi.

Where is my mind [3x]

Way out in the water
See it swimmin’ ?

With your feet in the air and your head on the ground
Try this trick and spin it, yeah
Your head will collapse
If there’s nothing in it
And you’ll ask yourself

Where is my mind [3x]

Oh
With your feet in the air and your head on the ground
Oh
Try this trick and spin it, yeah
Oh
Oh

Who honors those we love for the very life we live? Who sends monsters to kill us. And at the same time sings that we’ll never die. Who teaches us whats real, and how to laugh at lies. Who decides why we live, and what we’ll die to defend. Who chains us, and who holds the key to set us free. It’s you. You have all the weapons you need. Now fight!

I suppose it’s like the ticking crocodile, isn’t it? Time is chasing after all of us, isn’t that right?
